Kira Reed, Senior Research Associate
Kira Reed, Ph.D., is an associate professor of management in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Reed helped develop and implement university-wide requirements (First Year Seminar and IDEA course requirements) that are infused with belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion content and experiences. She was a co-leader of the Social Differences, Social Justice Research Cluster at the University and helped recruit faculty to the Whitman School of Management, doing research in this area. Her recent research explores the intersection of the political environment, gender and corporate social responsibility.
Corri Zoli, Research Associate
Corri Zoli, Ph.D., is a faculty affiliate and part-time instructor at Syracuse University’s Forensic and National Security Sciences Institute, a co-investigator at the University’s Intelligence Community Center of Excellence and an affiliated faculty member of the College of Law’s Doctor of Juridical Science program and the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families.
Zoli’s research and teaching focuses on U.S. military veterans and national and international security, with emphasis on law and policy challenges, problems of new technologies in warfare, and the role of cross-cultural dynamics in conflicts and humanitarian efforts. Using her background training in cultural studies, social science methods, and the humanities, Zoli brings a cross-cultural perspective to modern security challenges—from terrorism and violent extremism, international law and human rights in conflict transition, to the role of critical infrastructure systems (both physical and virtual) in transforming world order. Much of Zoli’s work attempts to humanize security, conflict, and war in a changing and dynamic world.
Zoli prioritizes interdisciplinary research partnerships and applied research in and beyond academia: her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, the U.S. State Department, and a Google Global Impact Award. Her publications have appeared in “Foreign Policy,” “Harvard National Security Journal,” the “Fletcher Forum of World Affairs,” among other venues. Zoli is a longtime member of the Warrior Scholar Program’s academic board.
In her prior administrative and teaching roles, Zoli served as former director of sponsored research and development, both at the International Studies Association at the College of Global Affairs, University of Connecticut, and at Syracuse University College of Law; as well as former Director of Research at Security, Policy, and Law (formerly INSCT) at the College of Law, where she was also a teaching professor.
