Miriam Mutambudzi, whose work examines the historic legacy of racist housing policies known as “redlining” and their impact on employment, is the 2024-26 Lender Center for Social Justice Faculty Fellow.
Mutambudzi is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health in Falk College, and Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Aging and Policy Studies (CAPS), the Aging Studies Institute, and the Maxwell School Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion.
Mutambudzi’s research is focused on three main subpopulations in the U.S, UK and Europe; older adults, the workforce, and vulnerable groups (race/ethnic minorities, immigrants, refugees). She uses longitudinal data to assess how social and structural determinants of health impact onset and progression of chronic diseases, functional and cognitive health, work-related health outcomes, and mortality across the life course.
